Crowned with the title of Mr. Gay World India 2016, Anwesh Sahoo exemplifies what being confident with oneself means. Fighting the brutality he faced in the forms of bullying, teasing and being groped, he inspires the crowd by mentioning how being effeminate is not related to the organ between one's legs and how wearing certain clothing or footwear does not define a person, building up the fact that being self confident is the biggest favor a person can do to oneself. His life as a young man struggling with his sexuality and the process of coming out, the times he has held himself back due to fear and insecurity, and his finally epiphany that lead to him to the realization that 'there is no peace in avoiding life and so he faced it all, and pushed himself to get through.' Anwesh Sahoo is the youngest person ever to hold the title Mr. Gay World India. He has been writing about gender related issues since he was 18 years old, drawing from his experiences, providing consolation to people facing the same issues through his words.
